New Logos: Real Estate Edition

Many moons ago I was an Art teacher and a Language Arts teacher, while teaching Language Arts at Ernest E. Just Middle School and the logos below were done for one of my former students and their brokerage.

Bianca, the Busy Bee of real estate came to me looking for help with her branding. She found examples that she liked of logos that were similar, and they I played around with what seemed like hundreds of fonts before this was settled upon. The tiniest details make all the difference with dealing with typography.  The bee was an added touch to polish it off.

BML Property Management wanted a logo that looked professional rather than like a material design icon. Because they deal in commercial and residential properties they wanted something that represented both. They were married on the Times Roman font family, so I added the Gotham in the identifier to create a smooth transition into the modern feel of the housing design.

This is logo is a redraw of the original logo they already had created however they needed and vector file and they were not given one. Lesson of the Day: ALWAYS make sure you ask for your logos to be packaged with a source file. This is will save you a lot of time and money.

Here is another real estate logo that I recreated and streamlined to give it a more updated look for another brokerage. I also updated the fonts for a more aesthetic appeal.

Every broken needs a good appraiser.  I created this logo for a company in Washington, DC that appraises commercial and residential properties. Keeping with the factory theme he wanted something that encompassed machinery, like a well oiled wheel...because he "cranks"them out like clockwork and always on time.

PPG for The Park!

Flyer Layout and Design
Client: The Park

I am so excited about my newest client, The Park at Fourteenth night club. This is the first flyer and although it was extremely stressful to provide on a 24hr turn around, they loved it! (And I think I do to...) The first project for new client is always the hardest for me. You really don't know them and in this case there was little time for research, I literally had 24 HOURS, but I rose to the challenge like a champion. They only work with the best...so I must be on the path to greatness!

This was the original flyer that I had to work from, created by another designer of course, so Photoshop was best friend for this project. The hardest challenge of this project was adjusting the color of the images for the DJs...one was in black and white and the other was in color. The end result was a success.  I am looking forward to many projects with The Park! Cheers!

Logo Design

Logo Design
Client: CSSC (Certified Shared Services Corporation)

The concept for this logo is based the company slogan, "You're Certified Business in a Box"...the black boxes represent the client company and the green box represents CSSC.  The green circular whisp is CSSC holding it together.  It works and they love it!

Will You be Our Bride?

Rack Card/Post Card: Layout | Design
Client: Weddings by Tanzi

Tips to Finding a Wedding Planner

Budget First Before a bride decides on a wedding planner, decide on a budget, and make the figure abundantly clear to the wedding planner. Wedding planners usually have inside connections in the wedding industry, and can make the most of the bride’s budget, as long as they know what it is!

Get References Don’t just get phone numbers from prospective wedding planners and assume everything was okay. Call these clients and follow up with them. Also, check their record on websites such as the Better Business Bureau, Yelp, and local review websites.

Insure Them 40% of wedding insurance claims stem from problems with a wedding planner. If the bride decides to hire a wedding planner, and their references check out, purchase wedding insurance to protect the investment.

Have Clear Ideas Wedding planners can plan every detail of a wedding, but without a clear concept, the bride may be disappointed. Always communicate theme ideas to the wedding planner. If the bride is having a themed wedding, be sure to tell the planner if the bride expects custom wedding candy or cute figurines as favors, for example.

Hire the Best Take a look at the budget, and decide on what the bride can realistically afford to pay a wedding planner. Once the bride has a concrete number, contact as many wedding planners as possible. Some planners will offer special deals and others may not.

The Goldie and O Show Logo Design

Logo Design Client: The Goldie and O Show

Cartoonish logos are always fun...BUT VERY TIME CONSUMING!!!  I tend to get a little nervous when it's presentation time, because you never know what the response will be.  But of course they are another set of satisfied clients.  They were very pleased with the likeness and felt that it was an awesome representation of their show, in their words, they were "very impressed"!

Information Graphics

Infographic Layout and Design
Client: BAEO

An infographic is, in my opinion, one of the best ways to get information across to your audience.  The use of bright colors make the graph pop, and the reader is engaged and intrigued to want to figure what it all means.

I love...love...love...creative advertising pieces, I am slowly trying to this move them towards the use of infographics in their marketing materials. Its a such a creative way of giving the reader information without your piece being too wordy, it actually helps to captivate and engage the audience if created correctly. We're getting there...
